Celebrating Imbolc

Updated: Feb 25, 2020

I love finding little, manageable, ways to celebrate the sabbats. It takes the pressure off of needing it to go perfect and I find it tends to flow rather than force.

Making a mini altar to bring focus to the occasion, journaling to set intentions as we rebirth into a new season, centering on some of the blooms coming in (you can do this for indoor plants as well), cleansing and decluttering your space (can be work, home or wherever you spend your time), planting seeds and planning for your future are all acts that can be engaged during Imbolc.

I also like to do a little pre-spring cleaning along with burning sage and palo santo to cleanse and bring balance to our space and mid-winter energies.

Any act that brings you closer to self-love, creative prospering and welcoming seeds you are about to sow (whether metaphorically or physically) is worthy of celebration during this time.

Growth and change aren't always comfortable so here are things to consider during Imbolc and beyond (these also make great journaling prompts):

° Clearing obstacles will transform negative energy and liberate you. What old (unhealthy, yet comfortable) habits are you letting go of in order to grow?

° Love is everything. As you embrace self-love how will you expand that to those who love and root for you?

° This is a time for rebirth, new beginnings, inspired moves and overcoming trials. How can you show up as your authentic self to plant new seeds of hope to grow?

I hope you enjoyed this post. I'd love to hear how you celebrated Imbolc or just yourself!
